Talk to most women, from the regular exerciser and runner to the just starting out and the one thing they have in common? That they have not found a sports bra that both supports them and feels comfortable.

More shockingly still, over 75% of women who exercise in the UK do not wear a sports bra according to Shock Absorber.

If you have been exercising for a long time, it is easy to dismiss such statistics, safe in the knowledge that you know your stuff. I did.

That was until I went to the launch of the new SweatShop at Trump Street and discovered I was a 32 D. I thought I was a 36B.

It is essential to wear the right size, not only for comfort and security but for your health. Wear a bra that does not support you correctly and you could stretch your ligaments and no amount of exercise will correct this.

But which bra to choose?

Nowadays, there are a whole range of choices from Moving Comfort UK to Freya, not to mention own brand stores such as H&M and Marks&Spencer, not just the cast iron, ugly matronly white and black sports bras of old. But which bra to choose?

Over the next six weeks, we will be putting a whole range of sports bras through a rigorous testing process to see which are the best for active women who run, box and cycle.

Found a sports bra that you swear by? Let us know which you give full marks.
