Tonight’s members’ run could be flat, or may be a little undulating, it all depends on which way we run and that is conditional upon the wind conditions on the evening.

Meet outside Yellowave warmed up and ready to run at 7pm.

You can pay and park by meter or at Black Rock car park – just remember to leave yourself enough time to get to the start.

Our membership costs £50 for the year and includes lots of benefits. Find out more here

Pop your parkrun cherry

If you’ve not heard of ParkRun, where have you been?

This 5k timed run is completely free and takes place in most parks across the UK at 9am, come water, snow and sunshine (in fact, it is now so successful, it’s spread as far afield as Australia).

If you are a complete beginner, this friendly event is great as it’s very supportive so that you will never feel like you’re a slow coach, or that you shouldn’t be there with baggy tracksuit bottoms compared to those pro-looking runners in their UnderArmour and beeping heart rate monitors like other short distance races.

Equally, if you’re not a beginner, Parkrun can work as a brilliant tempo run where you can push yourself to improve your time.

After every race, you hand in your chip and within 24 hours, you receive an email with your time. Brilliant. (You must register on their site at least 24 hours beforehand the first time and print off a bar code to attend).

At Fitbitch, we have been attending Parkrun for over four years with our camp clients. It works as their graduation from camp although of course we have a little treat at the end…our fantastic renowned Fitbitch graduation breakfast.

If you want to meet us, we go to Hove & Preston ParkRun.com – just give us a holler. We’ll be attending London Parkruns soon with our new camps launching in the spring soon. See you there!
