DreamChallenger: Diary of a beginner Fitbitch

Posted by Rachael Woolston

Last week, we announced our Dream Challenger 2014 winner, Becky Taylor. Here she reveals what her first week of Fitbitch was really like…

Thumbs up from Becs in her first week

I found out that I’d won the Dream Challenge 2014 competition, a year of camps and PT, a few days before the start of my first camp, Reboot.

The night before the first session, I could barely sleep because I was so nervous. ‘What if everyone else is super athletic? What if I embarrass myself? God, what if I don’t even wake up in time?!’

At 15 stone, having not exercised for years, I suddenly thought, ‘What have I done?’

But all my worries were gone within minutes of arriving at Queen’s Park,  just as the sun began to lighten the sky.

I wasn’t the only beginner, and even if I had been, everyone was so nice and the our coach, Kate made sure we all knew what we were doing.

Session one involved some fitness tests,  including a timed 1km run. I’m not a runner. Or so I thought.

I had to walk/run but I did it, overcoming a fear of running in just one session, which had kept me from trying it for years.

In fact the entire week has been a week of firsts. I’ve boxed, which I loved, swung kettlebells and done running intervals on the beach.

With the camp Reboot eating plan, I’ve completely overhauled by diet and thrown away all the junk.

I not only feel better but with the exercise, my long term issue with insomnia is improving. In fact, I’m ready for bed by 9.30am.

This is only week one, and I know that there will be some challenges and hard times along the way. But I’m excited about what the year ahead holds.

I used to watch other people running down on the seafront and feel so envious of their ability, and how liberating it looked. I never thought I’d ever be one of those women. But now, in just one week I AM one of them.

Want to take part in our Dream Challenge 2014?

Posted by Rachael Woolston

Whatever your size, shape, experience of exercise or current fitness level, YOU can be part of our  Dream Team in 2014.

What is our Dream Challenge all about?

In the last five years of of Fitbitch, we’ve seen time and again the amazing results that our clients achieve in body shape transformation, weight loss and fitness when they set themselves a fitness challenge.  And all without having to stress/worry or get tied up in knots about the weighing scales; your focus becomes the fitness goal and the weight melts away as you train.

But our Dream Challenge year is also about creating a community of women (and men – most of these challenges and training camps are also open to our new HIIT men campers too),  helping to motivate and inspire each other, in training for the same goal.

Worried about motivating yourselft to get out of the door and train? Not a problem when you’re part of a group of women, of ALL abilities and levels training together.

We witnessed this first hand when we had teams of 20 women training for some very challenging obstacle races in 2013, and during each and every one of our 2013 fitness camps when our new members graduated by running their first 5k Parkrun together.

Challenges work because they inspire you to be your best. And when you achieve your goal, it gives you the confidence to realise that you are capable of ANYTHING that you want to achieve, whether it’s a career goal, new relationship, weight loss or getting fit.

And finally, in being part of our Dream Challenge Year, you will be helping to raise money for one of three charities (help us to choose by voting here). Don’t worry, we will not ask you to canvas your friends and family, nor set limits on what you have to raise. All you have to do is wear one of our race vests when you do your challenge with a text number so people can donate as little as £1. Simple.

So, if you’re sitting there feeling bloated, unfit and determined to make changes that stick this 2014, why not be part of our Dream Team? You will train with like minded women, have the support of expert friendly female coaches, lose weight, get fit, have fun and raise money for a good cause too.

Interested? Read on for Dream Challenge List. You will need to enter the race yourself via the organisers website and then email us info@fitbitchbootcamp.com and we will help you connect with the others training for the event.

For most of these events, we will also be providing event specifc training camps (not obgliatory) to help you get ready physically and mentally for the crazy, fun and totally life changing events we’ve got coming up.

Don’t live in Brighton or Hove? Register for our London camps on our home page or we can offer online training.
